PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (BAI) is developing and operating the Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) in Mempawah, West Kalimantan. With an initial capacity of one million tons per year, PT BAI refines bauxite ore into alumina to strengthen Indonesia’s national aluminium industry value chain. The Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) project is part of Indonesia’s national downstreaming strategy, with a production capacity of 1 million tons of alumina per year. It utilizes ANTAM’s low-grade bauxite reserves to strengthen the domestic aluminium ecosystem.
