PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (BAI) develops and operates Indonesia’s first Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) in Mempawah, West Kalimantan. With an initial production capacity of one million tons per year, we refine local bauxite into high-quality alumina, strengthening the national aluminium value chain and advancing Indonesia’s downstream mineral industry. At every step, BAI embeds ESG principles at the core of our decisions and operations. Commissioning Progress
With the project reaching 98% completion, the commissioning process of PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia’s (PT BAI) Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) has entered its final phase. Each subsystem is currently undergoing thorough testing and verification to ensure readiness for integrated operations. Mechanical completion has been confirmed, and all efforts are now focused on final performance testing and fulfillment of regulatory requirements.
