PT BAI Provides Mattress Assistance to Pasir Village Residents and Elderly Following Floods

Mempawah, 17 February 2025 – As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (PT BAI) has provided assistance in the form of mattresses to residents of Pasir Village, with a particular focus on elderly individuals affected by recent flooding. This initiative aims to support the recovery process for those who lost household necessities due to the disaster.
The aid was handed over symbolically by PT BAI’s President Director to the Head of Pasir Village and was witnessed by beneficiaries from the local community. A total of 100 mattresses were distributed to help restore comfort and improve the quality of rest for residents—especially the elderly, who are among the most vulnerable in post-disaster situations.
Donny Zulfakar, President Director of PT BAI, emphasized that this assistance reflects the company’s dedication to the well-being of communities surrounding its operational areas.
“This is an expression of PT BAI’s care and concern for the local community, particularly for the elderly who were affected by the flooding. While the water has receded, the impact remains. We hope this modest contribution can ease the recovery journey and bring added comfort to those in need. Though the scale may be limited, we trust it will provide meaningful support,” he stated.
The Head of Pasir Village, Muhammad Amin, conveyed his appreciation for the support extended by PT BAI.
“This assistance is of great value to our residents who were impacted by the flood. We sincerely thank PT BAI for its attention and support to the people of Pasir Village,” he said.
One of the aid recipients also expressed gratitude for the initiative.
“The mattress is very useful for us. Thank you to PT BAI for showing such care and concern,” the recipient said.
Through this initiative, PT BAI reinforces its commitment to making a positive contribution to the social welfare of communities, particularly in areas where the company operates.
