PT BAI Distributes Rice Aid to Flood Victims via BPBD Mempawah
Mempawah, December 9, 2024 - As part of its continued commitment to community care, PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (PT BAI) has provided rice aid to residents affected by recent flooding in Mempawah Regency. The assistance was distributed through the Mempawah Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to ensure effective and well-targeted delivery.
The distribution was carried out with the involvement of BPBD teams, who directly reached flood-affected areas to deliver the aid. This initiative aimed to ease the burden experienced by communities facing hardships due to the disaster.
Agit Sugiarto, Head of BPBD Mempawah, expressed his appreciation for the company’s contribution. “We sincerely thank PT BAI for its attention and consistent support. We hope that this assistance, along with ongoing efforts by the regional government, can help alleviate the burden of those affected by the floods in Mempawah Regency,” he said.
On the same occasion, Wira Sembiring, Assistant Manager of External Relations & CSR at PT BAI, shared his perspective on the company’s involvement: “We hope this support can help ease the difficulties faced by the community during this challenging time.”
The flooding that has struck several areas in Mempawah over the past few days has caused damage and disrupted daily activities. Support such as this is expected to provide not only material assistance but also hope and motivation for the community to recover and move forward
